So, we're nearly on our way, cars getting sorted etc so I thought I'd start a new thread for those of us that are going to ask any questions etc.
This handy little table shows whats required from a legal perspective for the countries which we'll be driving through:
Make sure you have everything above covered.
Camping. I'm taking my small 2 man tent, airbed, sleeping bag, single gas burner and thats about it as that's all the camping equipment that I have!
What is everyone else taking? For example, has anyone got any better cooking equipment than my single burner? Will we be doing much 'community' cooking do you think, or are peeps more likely to use the on site cafe for brekkie and restaurants for dinner?
CB radio's, who else is gonna have one on board other than me and Mark?
Laps - Anyone bought any yet? Gonna get mine there.
Don't forget the new Ring Card, Top Up Card type thing
http://www.nuerburgring.de/en/info/nuerburgring-card.html
It will be the only currency accepted anywhere at The Ring, i.e. laps, drinks, food, everything. _________________

IF I'm going I'll be taking:
1 x 2 man tent or maybe a 8 man
1 x double airbed
1 x sleeping bag
1 x small burner for kettle
1 x grill to go (as seen at Billing)
Tea, coffee, sugar, milk, mugs, spoons, knives, forks and plates
AA have ran out of the Euro driving packs but there are available cheaper on Ebay.
I haven't got a CB but may look into getting one.
No laps bought as yet either!
I'm getting excited about it and I'm not even sure the car is going to be ready!!!!!! _________________

When I went I didn't take any originals of my cars docs only copies.
When we got to dover they pulled over us over and ask for the V5, insurance and I gave them copies they were happy with them. They also kept these and so if they had been given the originals then gods knows how I would have got them back. _________________

I'll be bringing a 2 man Army tent with camp bed.
Who wants cheap fuel? I'll need to ration it if a lot of you want some but every little helps. At the moment Super (95 Ron) is 1,35€ per litre (ish). For example 20 litres will cost you 27€. If I help out it will only cost 15€.
This is only open to you guys tho. Any takers? |

I've looked at my insurance policy and the only thing I found says the following.
"A.2.16 What is not covered?
Racing
A.2.16.2 Insurance cover shall not be granted for losses caused as a result of participation in motoring events, the aim of which is to achieve maximum speeds. This shall also apply to training and practice runs connected with such events."
What do you chaps think? I'm not actually racing but will be going pretty quick. |

I'm thinking it might be a good idea if I take my projector and a few driving themed movies to watch at night over some beer n nosh.
Something along the lines of The Italian Job, The Driver, Vanishing Point, Mad Max etc
I've got all the movies already on my PVR and it's simple to plug into my projector the only problem is the screen. Mine's huge and won't fit easily into my car so was wondering if you might be able to bring one down Ash?
What do you all reckon, good idea? _________________
