It sounds as you are at least content in the knowledge that you are doing the sensible thing - although it obviously pains you to have to do it. Best of luck with the sale and I hope you get a good price. Hopefully it will be sufficient to fund your Range Rover purchase! Just make sure you buy something fairly recent that doesn't need any restoration work!

Well, I still have my GTE but it's still in the same state as it was last year when it failed the MOT (underbody corrosion - rear chassis legs, spring seats, bulkhead, sills etc - the usual stuff)! Like you, it's difficult finding the time and I would need to pay somebody to do all the metalwork/painting.

I've had several passers by who have offered me money for it but I've resisted all temptation so far. For some reason I feel somehow responsible for its welfare having owned it since 1991. I'll do it one day - but that's probably what you thought 5 years ago!
