When using injection engines the following tanks can be used and are a strait fit mounting wise,

MK1 diesel (only one with swirl pot, requires external pump)
MK2 LXi (requires external pump)
mk3 1.4 and above, Multi point fuel injection only with internal 3bar pump
or single piont injection 0.8bar pump for running carbs

MK2/3 require filler neck pipework to be mixed and matched, if you get the pipe and filler neck a peice can be cut off to make an adapter to fit the mk1 filler neck
