Just got my mk1 home after 3 months big grin but can anyone recommend a decent car cover, one that grips and fits snuggly???
The one i have is shite, just like a big plastic sheet and would be ok if i was covering a double decker bus?

I've got one Damo that fits the MK1 PERFECTLY and is fully waterproof.
I got it from Halfords, it's silver with blue edging and cost about £40 or £50 I think.
Well worth the investment.

If you wanna go the whole hog, and with your MK1 I would, then get an outdoor Carcoon. Again, I have one but mine is an indoor one. The outdoor one is metallic to reflect and block out harmful UV. It will keep your car bone dry and will not allow any moisture to form at all. The air is cleaned using carbon filters and will mean no rust ever. It even dries a wet car in 20 mins!!
You'll need a size 4 for the MK1. Keep an eye on ebay cos they do come up second hand and that would do you perfectly well.

Here's the spec

in all honesty a car cover is actually worse on a car outside in the elements than leaving it uncovered as it traps moisture,so whereas on a dry windy day your car is drying a covered one still has moisture trapped attacking a car, just my thoughts and 2 or 3 bodyshop guys i know thinking behind it Confused

That's why you should get a 'breathable' one, I went though the car cover fad a bit ago, I just can't be arsed with the white one until it's done up properly.

Now the red ones a different storey.

my girlfriend made me get a cover for my mk1 untill I finish it. As she is sick to death of ' old bangers' littering the front garden. I brought the one from Argos and was surprised at the quality of the cloth and its good fit. A definite if your boot is missing, it also stops the local pikies throwing rubbish in it.
