- vacuum - from servo to right hand side of carbs?
- choke - do i need one? looks like the carbs have one...
- fuel - planning on getting a mk2 carb tank and have got a r1 pump, ideal?

throttle cable i got from venhill in a kit with barrel nipples of various sizes and attached the spring and clip off the original cable to that. Then just cut to length and soldered on the correct nipple for the carb end.
As for servo pipe i just got some servo hose from factors, was thick rubber and attached that to the onway valve in the original pipework after removing the last piece of pipe and had no problems
choke cable i used the oe mk1 and a solderless nipple to fit the carb end. _________________

i was using a mk1 gte tank but a carb one will be fine as you dont need a return. as for pump mixed reviews, some i heard have r1 pump with no worries, others have burnt out after few hundred miles. i went for the filter king fpr option and an electric cube type pump mounted in the original position which worked fine. _________________

im running r1 carbs on my nova
obviously youll need an inlet to match the head and carbs
i used the standard throttle cable as the carb end only needs a solderless nipple attatched
universal locking choke and use a solderless nipple again
i dont use a r1 pump as it has a fair distance to push the fuel ona car compared to a bike
i use a facet solid state pump with a filterking regulator
and an advanceable dizzy froma 1.6 cav
i use a megajolt ecu for my ignition
this is what i used to connect my throttle cable to the carbs, justa noodle from a pushbike v brake setup and some webber throttle cable adjustor bolts
the adjustor bolt fits perfect on the bracket on the top side of the carbs and so does the noodle fit good into the bolt
just feed the wire through it before you connect it to the carbs |

anyone got any pics of their carb setups finished? just wondering what you did with all the random pipes that seem to be on the carbs? are they waterways? not needed?
Im also wanting to hide as much wiring as i can so is there anything engine wiring wise i can do without or dont need? im not running a heater matrix either.

Looks like fuel in might be on the bottom at the back of the carbs. Do they have a return or not?
Where did you guys get the 90degree bend for the throttle cable whère it meets the carbs? |

Bump as after a 5 year Hiatus being a Dad and buying a shithole house I'm back in the game.
Cars still not running, think its not wired right with my ignition setup (will get some pics up soon). Could anyone give me any help on xe r1 carb wiring setups? Thinks its got h&h ignition (not 100% sure).
Its turning over, getting fuel and a faint spark.
Literally any help will be appreciated greatly. Pics to follow. |

I had faint spark so connected coil direct to battery live and cranked which gave full spark. So I then ran a new cable from the ignition switch to coil and boom she ran _________________
