Nope, white.
They come grey when you buy new ones. _________________ "A fine example of how not to build a car..."

Well, they're wrong.
Unless my dads brand new 8v, my 7 year old 8v, both my 16v and my mates 16v had them painted by accident _________________ "A fine example of how not to build a car..."

We may actually both be right, Heritage centre chap has done some digging and says that early cars were colour coded and the later ones were grey, although technically the heritage centre car is a late example which makes me right , seriously tho I think it's a no win argument for both of us so shal we agree to disagree and call it quits ??

Nope, they are supposed to be colour coded.

Seriously though, I can only comment on the white ones as that's all I've had but my dad had a silver one before his white one. All the white ones had white washers but when I had my 8v stolen and recovered, I had to replace one of the washers and it came in that un-painted grey.
I'm sure that they were so easy to knock off while parking which is why there are so many with grey ones.
It would be impossible I suppose that it was only white ones that were colour coded.
If nothing else, white washers look much better. _________________ "A fine example of how not to build a car..."

I'm not arguing that colour coded ones look better BTW. The coloured ones were availiable from Vauxhall, they had different part numbers, knowing vaux tho they probably dropped them as a cost cutting excercise _________________ Old skool- New rules !!! |
