Do it very dark purple with big gold metal flecks. |
What are you saying about red GTE's then Phil |
Two days after buying it (paid for with insurance money after some cnut wrote my Black one off) I got pulled over and told it had been written off.
Two months later I was on the way to pick the Mrs up and it stopped - the oil seal on the crank bearing came out of the bearing and layed itself over the crank pully. 4 Bent valves and a piston, head skim etc.
2 months after that I went through a ford which said it was 12" deep but it was actually 2 feet deep - water came up over the bonnet and hydraulic'd the engine. From then on it needed a new head gasket every 3-4000 miles.
In the mean time the inner wings and floor were rusting to sh$t and this was 20 years ago!
Apart from that I love Red Mk1s _________________ "A fine example of how not to build a car..."

The idiot read the depth gauge at the side of the road - you know the gauge specifically there to do one job, tell you how deep the f**king water is. _________________ "A fine example of how not to build a car..."

Ok the idiot that put the gauge in wrong then I never seen these gauges before but I guess I don't live anywhere near places that have water going over road as live on a big hill _________________ Stumbled upon a mk1 celebrity at a bargain price and it's not a rust bucket |
