I've got a pair of LCD clocks but don't have the white gte connector to get them working. I've managed to make my own from an old pc ribon cable but can't get any life from either clock?
I've managed to find a lot of info using the original plug and this chart for the individual pins but this only has 22 pins when the clocks have 26???
Small Connector Wiring (white plug)
Pin no Colour Function
1 Blue/White Alternator light
2
3 Grey/Green (Grey/Black) Dashboard brightness rheostat
4 Blue/Black Fuel gauge
5 Black Ignition + (illumination)
6
7 Green Rev counter
8
9 Brown Ground -
10 Brown Ground - (illumination)
11 Brown Ground-
12 Blue/Yellow Oil pressure gauge
13
14
15 Black Ignition + (speedo illumination)
16 Grey/Green Illumination (relay)
17 Blue Engine coolant temperature
18
19
20
21 Blue/Red Speedometer
22 Blue/Green Oil pressure light
Do the pins follow the same number pattern as the black 16 pin plug, if so both my clocks must be knacker???
Any help would be massively appreciated. _________________ No sooner did I get the mk1 back on the road, she's back off again for turbo power!!! |

test the illumination bulbs out of the clocks, their halogen and quite prone to popping, if they dont work you cant see anything else working. _________________

Thanks for the help lads I'm getting there slowly?
1st thing I did was test all the bulbs! The halogens where a tad dull but they worked fine!
I managed to finds pic of the 26pin plug with the correct pin numbering and got the clocks working with an old pc ribbon. The problem now is that the clocks turn off every time after completing theyre start up sequence?
Bloody hell Vernon i bet ive got the LCD feature in my old Total Vauxhall stash??? Please dont got pulling your mk2 apart for me though mate! lol...
It looks like I'm missing a live then, I've got 2 from the white plug and 1 from the black? This would have been child's play with the proper plug, not to worry though I love electronics!!! _________________ No sooner did I get the mk1 back on the road, she's back off again for turbo power!!! |
