From memory only 2 have been finished, AntB and a red one.
Glenn the Admin on this site has an project on going.

Someone is putting a mk1 shell over a subaru impreza chassis and doing it that way but apart from Swedeguy (insaneswede) in Sweden those are the only 4x4 mk1's I know about.

The real 400's aren't really an option as they are probably one of the rarest vauxhalls around.

Cool Idea, push the envelope!

Could use a Cavalier...

Or pull apart a nice Celica! Much better running gear and can handle more power. Still need rear beam from a Cav or Celica though.

About a month ago, was working on the mounts for the fuel cell. I'm in the process of moving house so everything is packed away. Moving to a house with a double-garage - it was a requirement so I could actually get something done on the car without moving everything around!

Baby due 20th Feb - so I have a deadline hey!! Eeeek eek

Wow, first of all thanks for all your help and advice guys!
I would love to build one! I have the means but finding a nice mk1 is hard enough le alone a 4x4 calibra or cav, iv seen the odd let engine for sale.
As for the celica 4x4 preferably id rather stick to all vauxhall as i no most of the parts will marry up if you no what i mean!
I mite settle for a mo1 gte if i can find one and convert it my self! Thanks evryone for your help, if theres any mk1's for sale let me no cheers

Don't do it to a real GTE if you can help it, the remaining real GTEs should remain standard IMHO.

However, if you want a car without a rusty bulkhead, floor and arches, find a non-gte, non-sunroof car.

If you're handy with a welder, buy a minter from Germany, ship is over and buy my spare (but requiring some work) RHD bulkhead.
