|
|
Hi, I've saved my Astra GTE for 16 years (owned for 22) and i'm finally getting around to rebuilding it. In general it's not too bad however, behind the bulkhead insulation there are many rust holes. Reading other posts this seems to be a common issue but does anyone know if good (hopefully original and definitely new) replacement bulkhead panels are still available? New rear quarter panels would be nice too, and possibly rear inner arches.
Any help would be most appreciated and I have money waiting. |

Thanks.
I have looked at the German Ebay in the past but it has taken me hours as I've no idea how to translate anything. I'm not too good with computer things and I don't speak German so I get over 20,000 results for Kadett d. Ebay offers to translate the item page but not the search.
I've seen one side quarter, and it's cheap enough, but it says over £200 for postage. I think I'd rather go to Germany myself at that cost, although seems like a lot of work and travelling to collect the few bits I need.
I'm probably doing something simple totally wrong so if you can offer any help in speeding this process up it would be nice. |

follow this link to all the available panels on ebay.de at the moment.
http://www.ebay.de/sch/Karosserieteile-/14768/i.html?_from=R40&_nkw=kadett+d
Google translate works ok or technical German but converstional or informal German it isn't very good.
Keep your questions small. English is more flamboyant than German and it is easy to confuse the translator.
"Hello, my name is Mr abc123.
How much is postage to England?
Thank you
Hallo, meine name ist Mr "abc123"
wie viel ist Porto nach England?
vielen Dank.
"England" covers the entire UK. They do not differenciate bewteen Wales, Scotland and England. Asking for anything else can cause confusion. Its not an insult, its just how it is.
If I can help with Translations then write what you want below and I'll translate it for you. |

Thanks for the replies, I've been using the link to narrow down the search - really appreciated ASH. It's quite likely I'll take you up on your translation offer if I find something that looks promising.
Hope to find what I need sometime soon. A bulkhead panel would help so much to get back on the road, I guess the rest can be patched for now but it'd be nice to finish the engine bay while the engine and dash is out. Looking forward to driving my GTE again. |

I've never seen a replacement bulkhead in the 15 years I've been into mk1s. _________________ [Click here to pay ransom to view photos] |

I've seen the lower portion but never the top. I'm sure I asked opel once and they said that opel didn't produce that part outside the production line. |
