Any chance of an XE/LET-into-Mk1 fitting guide, anyone? Plenty of people have done the swap and it would be great to have all the relevant info in one place!

I'm not after any info specifically at the mo, but it's something I'm considering for the near future. Therefore it would be really handy to be able to print a basic procedure or list of potential snags before venturing into the garage, to potentially save a whole load of heartache!

I think it would make a great addition to the site, and removes the need to search old posts or ask questions that are bound to have been asked countless times smile

Anyone up for the challenge?

I too think this would be a great idea.

what mounts to use? what airbox etc....

even down to the wiring colour would save some time.

Ok, time for people to start making a name for themselves in the Hints and Tips section, fitting the engine itself is relatively easy, but there's alot more to it than that

Ok well if nobody fancies it, I'll do one if/when I get around to doing the swap. Assuming I don't get too annoyed and push the car down a very steep hill, of course. smile

I'd put one together but I was that mashed when I did it that I don't think it'll be in the right order.

It'll include "Jacko's obsessive soldering guide" though laughing laughing

I could POSSIBLELY be persuaded into doing a guide, depending on how booked my diary is...

...i've jsut had a quick look and noticed that im watching day-time tv for the unforeseeable future, i'll have to report back when i get the time...

Could someone tell me what wires you have coming form the coil end of the std engine bay loom please, this would help when doing a std to XE/LET.

Regards
Jacko
