This is being done by the club that I am involved with, But if there is anyone in the area that fancies a £20 run on a State of the Art Rolling Road then please come along.

I will have my Astra there as well to keep anyone company. Hope that you make it along. I DONT BITE laughing

Please see http://scottishvag.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=10907 for all the latest details

Ok we have another Rolling Road day planned, This has come about due to the reponse that the "Detailing Day"
at Starperformance was generating.

Initally this would have been held at Starperformance but Jim could not commit to it so we sourced an alternative venue.

Colin B spoke with Kevin at Falkland Performance Centre about hosting this event and Kevin has kindly agreed to help the club out. Cool

So whats going to be going on

Rolling Road , Show 'n' Shine , Burger Van, Car Wash, Raffle and VAGCOM day at Falkland Performance Centre (Glenrothes, Fife)

Details

November 5th 2006 kick off time 9.00pm (arriving from 8.45am)

Rolling Road will be in operation until the last car is done but will aim for around 3/4pm finish.
Not sure how many Kev will get through but there will be scope for 20 cars+.

Cost per run

2WD = £20 (Sorry no facilities for 4WD) - We need 20 cars to run for £20 a run. This should not be a problem.

Everyone will get one proper run for this price.

Videos will be taken of the runs and posted up on the website. (Video dude required see bottom of post)

Burger Van

Will be in operation from 8.30am until early afternoon on the Sunday and all the usual goodies will be available.
SVAG wont be doing the grub like last time but plans will be made for future events.

Show n Shine

Will be judged by "Special Guests" and prizes will be handed out after the rolling road is finished with.
There will be 8 custom made prizes handed out.

1 Best Standard Car
2 Best Modified Car
3 Best Project car
4 Best BHP figure on the rolling Road (DIESEL)
5 Best TORQUE figure on the rolling Road (DIESEL)
6 Best BHP figure on the rolling Road (PETROL)
7 Best TORQUE figure on the rolling Road (PETROL)

Also a special prize catagory, This will be awarded on the day, There will be no fixed criteria it could be the most talked about car,
The best rims seen, The best effort on the day, The funniest moment of the day.
There will be no scope at all for this prize but could end up being the most talked about.

8. Special prize

Pictures will be taken of all prize winners and will be posted to the Golf+ and PVW.
With any luck we may get a feature out of it.

The prizes will be funded by SVAG, But all we would ask is a small donation to enter.
That way the club will not loose too much money as a result of paying for the prizes.

VAGCOM

Got a VAG car from 1990 then you may want to have a diagnostic done on it to see if there are any fault codes on the ECU.
We can provide this service and will do this either before your RR run or after it.
Or even if your not running it may be worth having it checked to see if there are any codes on it.

VAGCOM can also do the following:

Change alarm,
Central locking,
Settings on the mk4/5 platform
ie,
One touch locking/unlocking,
Two touch locking/unlocking
(once for drivers door, twice for all doors & Boot)
Alarm beeps/chirps enabled or disabled
Indicator Flash enabled or disabled
Auto hijack (Safety feature - Locks all doors once over 10mph, u
nlocks once key is removed -
Ideal for women drivers & kids who like to open doors while
driving along the motorway)

Cost for VAGCOM is £5 with all monies going to the club.
Anyone wishing to get their car done should add their name to the list under VAGCOM.
SVAG will have a list of cars on the day. First come first served.

Also your in the right place to get it booked in to be fixed if VAGCOM throws up a fault code.
Pretty sure Kevin will give you a good quote on repair work.

Car washing on site with .

Details will follw but there will be a mobile unit to offer car washing.
This will ensure that you will have a nice clean car for the Rolling Road pics and also the Show 'n' Shine.
As soon as this is confirmed then I will alter this post with more details.

Membership

Can be bought on the night at a cost of £10 for individual membership.
If your membership has recently exprired then you will have a chance to fork out £10 to continue to help support the club.
There is now a discount list of over 30 confirmed discounts. This should more than cover the £10 that is required to be part of the club.

Merchandise

Will also be available on the day. Polo Shirts,
Stickers etc will be available to buy so bring your wallets & purses along cos xmas is coming.

Raffle

There will be a small raffle on the day, This will take place afte the prize giving for the Show n Shine etc.
Raffle strips will cost £1 for 5 numbers and some nice prizes will be on offer at the event.

There may be other potential things going on and this original thread will be updated as we go along.
This is going up with plenty of time to spare so we can really promote it.

As this may be rather a large meet we will need a bit of help to help out on the day.
Not sure what yet but would like a couple of people to help out

Confirmed helper so far

Bruce
Riki
Colin B

One to help with the running of the Rolling Road.

So a checklist of who is on the road and organising who is to come on next.
Kev will liase with this person based on front or rear Wheel drive or by style ie all Mk.4 together etc.

One to take video phootage of the Road and be able to post up on the site.

If you are interested then please PM me and we can see who would like to help out.

If you are interested in the Rolling Road please add your name to the thread so we can see who would like to attend.
There is no up front costs but please if you want to run and put your name down please try and turn up.
FPC (Kevin) do not normally open on a Sunday this is a huge favour that has been asked and we really dont want to let him down.

Obviously you dont have to do the Rolling Road you can come along just for the fun of it or enter the Show n Shine.
Or maybe even just turn up either way come along and enjoy the day.

Just hope the weather is good Cool
