Here goes bought it off a guy who only joined to find a fuel pump for the car and purchased it within the week from Gillingham in Kent with a one way rail ticket and a pocketful of cash.

Anyway, drove it 237miles home and whupped a mk2 mr2 and a bloke in audi tt couldnt pass me on the way home, I was well pleased. It had all its receipts including the original bill of sale and even the tool kit and had been restored a few years earlier. Engine was a bit smokey and the box had a slight whine so after using it for a few months I managed to aquire a strong engine and box (dyno print out of 137.5 bhp thanks Ed) to rebuild whilst keeping mine on the road. A complete engine rebuild followed which cost me about £240 for all the bits and my own time and pair of bearings for the gearbox (£80 from vaux but only £25 delivered from a local bearing suppliers).

Heres the pics.

Swapped engines and boxes over the following weekend and enjoyed for a while, strong engine (was 137.5 bhp) now running a ported st2 irmscher head and four branch prob now running a touch over 140 bhp and mk1cowboy can testify to how torquey it is being the only other person to have driven it. Anyway I wanted to get as many irmscher bits on this car as I could so I started trawling ebay and this forum and eventually sourced alloys, steering wheel, grille, rear spoiler, rear tailgate panel and all the badges and stickers.

Pics here.

As always thing do have a tendency to go downhill with longterm ownership so when it failed its MOT earlier in the year I shouldnt have been surprised. Total list includes both front floor pans holed, cv boot split, small hole near offside front lower suspension mount, rear corner nearside inner holed, brake efficincies slightly low but car hadn't been driven for about a month or more. So just a bit of welding to do and a few minor jobs and she should be back and bad. Made a start yesterday cleaning up the offending area in preparation of the floor pan repairs.
I'll keep the pics going as I go.
