No not a race but a question?, it has tested my mk1 loyalty.
I really like the Astra H and have an 11k budget.
Would you get a SRI 2.0T or a 1.9CDTi SRi and keep a nice Mk1 Turbo

Or

Would you sell your mk1 to fund a VXR purchase, i am really liking the VXR tange at the mo.

Probably know the answer but wot would you fellow mk1 owners do.

I knew someone would say neither!!, i have 11k Jacko, i wanted to change my cars before our nipper comes along in feb.
I have just bought a new Vec SRI CDTi and am well impressed with it, so was thinking the astra equivalent would suit. so now need to change mine. You may of seen in another post i am thinking off selling my GSI as soon as i find a replecement.
and why the cash/finance question whats the diff?

Congrats on the wee one dude thumbsup

So you've got the mk1, the Vectra and GSi? GSi what?

How come you're thinking of getting rid of the mk1 when you've got a sensible sports sedan already and a fun car, why would you want to change this? do you want to shrink the fleet?

Cheers for the congrats.
Ye i have the Vec, and the mk1, and the Vec GSi (see for sale section), but i dont like it much and want something newer. Dont want to shrink the fleet, just update it now as dont want the hassle when the little one is about.
tbh dont think i can sell the mk1, know i will regret it, i did before.
So 11k (Cash btw, dont like finance), want something new as poss with limited miles, still needs to be quick and sporty else i will get bored shitless.
hence the Astra CDTI sport hatch would fit the bill.

Ohh right i see.

Well you want a 4 door tho don't you? I don't know what the deal is this child seats, do they go in the front or back of cars nowadays?

So you're gonna want a safe car to protect the little'un then...humm Think

would go for the diesel myself, i have a friend with a mk 4 astra coupe turbo and he can't get any clean air between it and my mk 1 XE.

my boss has a mk 5 sri 200bhp Z20LET but i've yet to race him though he wont believe that his car wont just blow mine into the weeds...

i'd be surprised if the mk 5 VXR would leave a mk 1 C20LET at all... ok so it may be slightly more comfortable and safer but who needs those?

currently have a mk 3 diesel for driving to work and leaving in dodgy areas of town which does the job so would spend a few grand on a nice diesel and then pocket the rest!!!

Cool, thats the kinda good MK5 feedback i wanted, also dont neccesarily need to be a 5 door Jacko as i have the Vec for that mainly, but would need a rear seat and a reasnoble bootspace (thats why i sold the clio)

Also i notice the mk5 is 170bhp as a 3 door and 200bhp as a 5, whats that about?
The CDTI 150, is that not very easily tuneable??

Why not keep the gsi and dump the new one? I much prefer the old to the new. Surely 1 daily and one fun car is enough?

If not then get rid of both and get a signam, this is a nice one...

Trying to think what i would do with the spare wonga Think
