Hi All
Does anyone know off hand what a mk1 Astra roughly weighs..
I would look under the bonnet at the plate but my car isn't here at the moment.
Thanks

Haynes manual says
1.2 2/3 door - 865kg
1.2 4/5 door - 885kg
1.3 2/3 door - 875kg
1.3 4/5 door - 895kg
1.6 3 door - 920kg
1.6 5 door - 940kg
1.8 - 980kg
*approximate and vary with trim levels
I've often wondered how much weight the XE adds over the 1.3 / 1.6 / 1.8.

I would think an XE would add no more than 50-70kgs.
But need to know the weight of an XE really then could have a calculated guess.
Best bet is get it weighed on a weigh bridge _________________

Sure someone has done the weight difference with 1.8 and XE and it was only something small like 25-20kg.
Tricky should be able to give an idea as he has weighed his, But I thought the weight of GTE was nearer that of Seans guess 1000-1200kg. _________________ Die rust die!!!!! |

I corner weighted mine on some proper calibrated scales, with 3/4 of a tank of fuel in it.
For those of you that don't know its Chunks' then Sy's pale blue mk1. Still basic 1200S spec but with an XE in it.
Its 936kg, but the weight is all over the place. |
