Got more work done on Sunday, had to do this hole between the rear hatch and tail lights.
And got the passenger rear corner done aswell
There was also this bit to do on the inner wing. II'm pretty sure you're not supposed to see daylight there
Welding this up means I now have a fairly solid shell which is exciting Just have to make it pretty now!

Definitely beginning to see lights at the end of the tunnel. Just not sure if they're round or square lights yet. _________________ SpaceKadett wrapped in fibreglass. |

Got a little bit more done. With the good weather I decided it was a good time to paint the spare wheel well and the bulkhead. Can't wait to start refitting the interior. At least it will look good from the inside out then.
It has a few scars still, but then so do I after 30 years.
Stuck in a new battery as well, so I don't have to keep swapping from other cars, replaced a little vacuum thing on the carb and fixed the plastic drive between the distributor and cam (mine runs ignition of a mk2) So it's running a lot better now, but the exhasut just rewarded me by splitting a silencer. Time to get the mig out again. _________________ SpaceKadett wrapped in fibreglass. |

Roof needed a bit of paint before I go sticking an interior and a roof lining in.
I know the work is a bit agricultural but I'm using the best means available to me at the moment and once I get it on the road I can tip away at improving it. _________________ SpaceKadett wrapped in fibreglass. |

Finished off painting the interior yesterday.
This current heatwave is great for drying paint.
Had the pleasure of fiting some of the interior today.
Starting to feel like a car again atlast which is just aswell because I was feeling a bit down about the project at the start of the week. Making a bit of headway. Still have all the removable panels to weld. Wings doors bonnet and boot. I had a bit of a poke around underneath and was glad to see that it's all very solid under there around suspension mounts etc. So good news at last. Just got to give it all a lick of paint to preserve it. But no repairs to be done there. Same with the engine bay. _________________ SpaceKadett wrapped in fibreglass.

Keep up the good work Spacekadett. We all feel like that at times. I've only just learnt recently to finish a project. And don't worry about your finish at the moment at least you are doing something to prolong it's life you can alway improve anything you are not happy with. _________________ There's no such thing as a stupid question... Fabricated (in the loosest sense of the word) a couple of repair sections for one of my wings and welded them in.
Right wing and bonnet to do tomorrow. _________________ SpaceKadett wrapped in fibreglass. |
