Rules for the Chairman’s Cup

• As in 2006, the competition will be subdivided into three classes and an overall winner
•Cars and commercial vehicles are eligible for all classes and overall
•Each VBOA affiliated club present at Billing is asked to identify, by whatever means, the “best” vehicle in their club display, which will be invited to join those from the other participating clubs in the display ring for judging at 1.15 pm prompt on Sunday July 13th.
•Voting forms will be available from 1.15 to 2.30 pm for any rally participant or member of the public to vote for the vehicle that in their opinion is the “best in the show”.
•A box for the votes will be clearly marked in the show ring area
•The winners will be announced at 3.00pm, based on the votes cast, as follows:
Most votes - The Chairman’s Cup for best overall vehicle in show
Most votes for a pre-1975 vehicle to broadly standard specification – the Griffin Trophy
Most votes for a post 1975 vehicle to broadly standard specification – The Treasurer’s Trophy
Most votes for a modified/custom vehicle – The Victor Cup
NB: No car can receive more than one award
• Definition of “broadly standard” and “modified/custom” will be made by the VBOA organising group on the day and will not be subject to appeal. As a guide, vehicles which have any of the following modifications will be deemed ”modified/custom”: an engine transplant, forced induction added, drives more or different wheels than when built, has heavily revised bodywork, is aggressively lowered. Mild tuning using original components, subtle body additions/paint schemes and different styled wheels of approximately original size will usually be deemed “standard”. An incorrect side lamp lens does not a modified car make!
•In the event of a draw the VBOA Chairman’s decision will be final
