Treated the inside of my wings to a lick of paint this afternoon and filled and sanded the outside.
Here's the insides

And on the car.

I just worked out how to copy and paste url's with my phone. So that's it my PC is now obolete. As you can see from my recent state of the nation pic my bonnet wasn't looking too hot so I took it off and shot a bit of paint at it this evening. Needs a couple more coats. I think its going to make a big difference to how I feel about the project when the outside looks semi respectable.

Rattle rattle for now. I'm just trying to stop the blighter from rusting at the monent and get her roadworthy, then I'l go back and fill in all the little dings uneven bits of paint etc and get her sprayed by a neighbour who's pretty handy with a compressor. Came out allright, especialy with a bit of lacquer, I'm dead lucky the generic black paint, the hamerite and the original spray job I got done about ten years ago all match pretty well. It's a real morale boost to have the bonnet looking somewhat respectable again. Front valence and doors now and a little bit I just spotted in the scuttle, then paint under arches floor and engine bay....

Thanks Ecky. They're legal here in Ireland, all our number plate law regarding lettering applies from 1991 on. Mine are as issued in 1983 and I'm very proud of them, especially the red plate on the back.

I fitted a new door at lunchtime from work, (I live really close to work), Going for the snotter look. Big improvement!

LoL Took my door off to weld it, had to block the gap with something, especially since I already fitted my precious GTE interior.

I'm very happy with how this fabrication worked out today. Especially folding the metal around the edges. Soon the car is going to have a good side and a bad side.

I wonder what my shut lines will be like Confused

Fitted the door again on Monday and got a temporary lick of paint on it this evening. It's great to see metal where there was only dust rust and fresh air before.

It's come a long way from here

Thanks bud, I didn't realise you were from Dublin until now. Let me know if there's any bits and pieces that you need, I've a heap of old scrappers to harvest. I'm always up for swaps or whatever.

I'd robbed the carb and fuel pump off the black Kadett to get a rallycar going. I put everthing back on this evening and fired her up for my first drive with all the interior back in and took it for a little spin accross the farm. This was a major morale boost. This is the bad side, but it feels like a car again and not just a chunk of metal. Front panel is on the way. Will have to crack on and repair the passenger door and get a bit of filler over the welds on the quarter panel.

Kind'f diggin' the black steelies that came with me van which had a bit of thread left on them. Might leave them on for the test anyway.
