Hi

I was looking through some paper-work this morning and found the logbook for my Astra. When I had a proper look at it I soon realised that it is actually an Opel Kadett and not an Astra as the guy advertised. I now have to contact my insurance company and get all the details changed because technically the car probably isn’t insured, what a pain. My brother picked the car up for me when I bought it so I never filled the logbook in, he did. When the new logbook came through the post I just thought great and put it away without looking at it.

Another thing that I noticed was it still has 1600 on it and not 2000 16v. Is this easy to change, do I just fill it in at send it off.

Nick,

Yeah, look through the blue part and it should have a small box for the capacity and then one for the engine number, fill these in, send it to the dvla and they'll send it back to you updated, won't say 16v but such is life

the dvla might ask for an engineers report but very rarely do, usually only when lowering cc.

When I bought the car I insisted on the guy having an engineers report done, so thats no real problem, its just a pain.
