How she looks at the minute. Someone is supposed to be coming round to do the valve stem oil seals and fit the front springs, then I'll have a try at MOTing her.

And get some all red rear lenses

Finally got a chance to have a proper look at the smoking issue. Had her running for the longest time yet (about 25 minutes), and ran two bottles of Redex through the carb. Another half hour running and she was still smoking like a bastard. And apart from the smoke she was also pushing black slime out of the exhaust, the whole exhaust must be full of oil!

So I found a set of rings on Ebay

And luckily I had bought another exhaust when I was thinking of swapping over the GTE parts

It didn't look quite as chavy in the ebay ad

Swapped over the exhaust and most of the smoke disappeared. Now it just smoked after idling or under acceleration so it looked like valve stem oil seals after all.

I've had no time to work on projects lately so a mechanic friend stripped the head off, replaced the cambelt, water pump and oil seals. I helped fit it back on and no more smoking big grin

Also fitted the front springs but I haven't got any pics yet. Sits a bit too high at the front so it may need a coupld of coils cutting out (I forgot they were GTE springs so mine is a bit light to sit right)

I can't find a decent spot for the fronts, think they might have to go under the seats
