To be honest it was broke when i bought it but after alot of investigation i cant find the problem. The very silly man who had it before me let the battery run down then tried to jump start it of a TRUCK eek The result in 12v/45Aph and 24v/180Aph meating was the dials no longer work. But the hand brake and oil warning lights are still ok.

I've replaced the ECU, no effect. Checked the loom for brakes but i cant find a problem. All the cables are free of burn marks too. All the connections are fine and pass current on the clocks. All relays/fuses are ok.
The car was fitted with a Cobra Alarm/Immobiliser which i took out as the Key fob was smashed. But i made sure to look for split cables when removing it. The car starts and runs fine but there is no life infront of me. I just cant seem to find the gremlin.

Buying a set of new clocks in an expensive option i'd rather not take and a BMW garage will charge alot to plug it up to there computers. Can you guys see something I may of over looked? Confused

Thanks.

If you are getting current reading up behind the clocks then it sounds like it might have frazzled your potentiometers in the clocks.

What exactly isn't working? Do you have a rev counter, does that work?

the Rev counter doesn't work either. Everything apart from the handbrake and oil light is completely dead.

Its an E36. I'll need the clocks to be in kph not Mph i'm affraid so i'll have to find some over here. Thats if thats the problem? Confused
I'll give it a whirl as there quiet sensitive and one of most likely things to go wrong. But watch this space.

Hopefully it works as the money from that is going towards the Kadett's Paint job. Pearlecent white is an option.
