Just having a look through haynes manual page 20 if you got one. the only difference I can see is the camshaft.
Its that that gives the 1.3S high Compression and 1.3 Low compression
But i'm sure someone will be along shortly to confirm this or piss on my chips |
A camshaft can't change the compression, that will be done by either the pistons or head.
the gaskets should all be the same tho. _________________

Well this sunday. Festival of transport at weston park.
Anyway. Bit of an update on the sharona saga. I will be home about four today so plan is to pull the head off and drop the engine out totally. It will be easier to work on for 1 and 2 i can clean the bay up and replacing the gaskets as we go.
What are the torque settings for the head bolts? |

update again. dropped sump off and looked at crank. All looks ok. Few blemished on shells but nothing to write home about.
Took the head off and the cam and rockers look shafted!!!!
The lobes and rockers are really worn, Hydraulic lifters were very tight when squeezed to get the old oil out, There is slight movement on all 4 piston heads when at the top but this might be down to tolerence???
Also the big ends have about 1mm play when at bottom? tolerence again?
Cylinder bores are not scorn and look pretty good tbh.
Do you think this could cause the noise guys???
A couple of the cams had got flat spots where the dark metal part stood proud of the lighter part pretty badly |

that cam would be very noisy mate so very possibly your problem, had something similar happen to my ma's mk2 cav years ago. she drove it to the point there was no lobes lift in places just a nice round shaft lol _________________

When we fired her up once back home I opened the filler cap and looked and it seemed plenty of oil up the top end? |
