Anyone clarify why they/so many people love carbon fibre tat so much ?
Bragging rights due to cost? Strength and weight saving ability? The "look" ?
Never got my head round it personally, if it ever made it onto one of my vehicles it would be getting painted. I guess the 3 above are the only reasons I can think of.
Other peoples opinions on it? Who would have it / does have it?

I have no love for it, although I do have a carbon fibre cambelt cover but at least that's hidden away.
Carbon fibre dash panels etc are just plain hideous

Agreed !!! I think the problem is that a lot of the stuff out there is fake or really poor quality, if you look at proper stuff that's been autoclaved then it's a different ball game, stuff like M3 CSL roofs, GT3RS rear spoilers and so on (has anyone seen the bare carbon Zonda ?? ), they are proper sexy, would I have some bits on my car if I could afford to have them made to that quality?? Errrr , cause I would !! They would then match my Hideous carbon instrument panel

I must admit that I have carbon foil covered belt cover, but that was because of a totally failed powder coating attempt 
Will sandblast and re coat this when I find the time.
I also have carbon/kevlar/balsa/epoxy under bonnet air scoop that I made myself.
Not a big fan of using carbon as bling on the car. Must be a reason for using it, like weight or strength.
Everybody knows that one square inch of carbon foil takes at least one kg weight of your car, that is why you see so much carbon on cars with huge audio systems and 20" rims
On the other hand I think people should be allowed to do what suits them, if you like the carbon look, then go for it.

I love carbon, well the real stuff, the stick on stuff is just pointless but theirs something about the real thing.
