Finally get her running right then pop!!

Finally got my xe'd mk1 running right after rewiring, new cts and inlet manifold. She was running great so decided to let her get up to temperature to make sure everything was ok and just b4 it was at temp she coughed, spluttered and spewed loads of smoke out of the exhaust. Devastated is not the word! Now got the head off can't see any odvious signs of it being the head gasket and there is a bit of play in each of the pistons plus quite a lip at the top of the bores so full rebuild it's going to have to be I guess?
