Doesn't he mention something about the setup for HVLP guns being different?
The problem I've found is how much to thin paint for HVLP.
The black stuff I put on said to thin by 5%-15% so I did 10% and it still went on like hammerite. What I rang the company they said 20%. As it happens, I prefer that particular finish for the lower chassis stuff but i don;t really want the bodywork in hammerite! _________________ "A fine example of how not to build a car..."

Its a Bit of a mine field to be honest Manufacturers will give you their settings. But like my friend Pete said It all comes down to preference. I ve gone a bit Gung-Ho/ Yippee ki-yay last time I sprayed my car so Im going to practice on a spare panel.
Might you have had too much paint volume going through? |

As soon as I started to clean it (ie shoved some thinners in the pot) the spray pattern changed completely into a mist and the sound changed to more of a blowy hiss if you get what I mean. _________________ "A fine example of how not to build a car..."
