Went out on Boxing to buy fridge freezer in the sales left curry's with £400 unit. Got it into the back of my 2007 honda accord 2.2cdti estate which the wife normally drives. Anyway just got onto duel carriage way and thought clutch was slipping, so stuck it in 6th and booted it clutch knackered and car went into limp mode. (Ilesson there make her walk to work)

Picked up LUK clutch £160, stripped the heaviest subframe i've ever had the misfortune to mess with and removed gearbox only to find clutch not as bad as expected but flywheel wrecked so £490+vat later
Anyway now fitted along with £80 for service parts as well (honda dont like you to service your own car as they make the fuel filter an absolute pig to change)

So I start the new year my astra mk1 fund well and truly dented but at least i've got a fridge to keep the beers and the valium cold

Saying that, new cars are indeed stupid. Me and pip (mostly Phil) did the head gasket on my 06 astra , just to do the head we could see into the fookin sump lol. New cars suck!
