Do you think that is better to enlarge the hole in the turret or use the top of mk1 + mk3 leg?

Mate ! You MUST Upgrade the BRAKES and the antiroll bars too !
The cooling system ( radiator fan ) and have replaced all rubber joins !
I will not go out to the streets with 200 bhp without all the above !

i would make the hole bigger and go full mk3 setup including a rear axle with disc brakes, use the calibra front brakes as they will bolt straight on,

you'll need a 1.6/1.8 hatchback master cylinder too as the 1.2 is tiny and wont cope with the upgrade very well and now would be a good time to replace the old brake pipes and flexible pipes too

anti roll bar is a good idea but if your going super low with stiff springs the old one will cope for now

Yeah I have put the brake master cylinder and servo of Calibra Turbo but need two 3way joiner for the brake lines. Hope this work.
Disc and caliper of Cally of course 288mm (or 284mm I don't know but it's a 1995).

Rear axle is a problem becouse I haven't found a car with discs, so for now I stay standard

Cooling system is also from Calibra, so no problem.

My car don't have an anti roll bar! where I can find a good bar? front and rear?

If your using a T for the brakes then check n see if the cali had it set as one front and opposite side rear going to the T and do it the same,

on another note, does yours have the brake load ballencer on the rear axle? If it doesn't your going to need to get one as the mk1 rear pipes have ether the load ballencer on the axel or has them valves at the servo end, ether way you need one or the other to balance the brakes

I Don't think anyone on here has used the cali two pipe M/C before

The Daewoo Nexia has an uprated anti roll bar that will fit the mk1. its 24mm from memory which is bigger than a GTE's.

I have the 24mm front antiroll bar and the car is like a train on rails !

I would NOT recommend any alchemies with the brakes !
The winner combination and SAFE ONE IS :

THE FULL BRAKE SET FROM AN ASTRA MK2 GSI 16V WITHOUT ABS.

If you want to have MORE front brake power then have the 284 disks from Calibra ( NOT the 288) installed . You have to make some drilling and machining but worths the money and time .

DO NOT go on the road with 200BHP with NO brakes or with WRONG brakes !

My kadett runs 2 t pieces on the brake lines. The brakes can lockup all round under heavy braking. I plan to fit abs at some point.

Dimpas why you say not the 288mm???
At moment I have a full Calibra Turbo so why not use it?!

I can buy a new brake master cylinder of Kadett GSI 16v w/o ABS but where I can find the right servo??!


This is the bmc that I have (with the right servo)


1x m10x1
1x m12x1
Diameter 23,8mm


And these are all the Kadett GSI 16v (Astra mk2 GTE 16v) bmc avaiables

288 calipers have 57mm piston so you need a 24mm master cylinder
i had them and i changed with the 284 with 54mm piston !
Better pedal travel Better feel with the 22mm piston
I have the hole setup from the Kadett E Gsi 16V WITHOUT ABS + the 284 from brakes from an early calibra .
If you can fit ABS and have it working safely go ahead !

In the rear axle an inner and an external antirollbar is a must when you have a big one 24mm in front !

someone can help me to wire the immobilizer transponder?

I have the ecu "HD"

found this on migweb forum:

Transponder pickup wires....

Red to +12v
black to ignition (dash connector maybe a good place)
brown to earth
brown/blue to ecu light on the dash connector.(same wire colour)

in the drivers footwell, on the ecu connections between the car loom and ecu loom, you need to break the thin blue/red connection and route it through the imboliser pickup

blue/red pin 7 to the blue/red wire that goes into the ecu loom on the square connector in the footwell.
blue/red pin 6 to the blue/red wire that goes to the car loom in the footwell




BUT I don't understand this blue/red wire thing.
I don't have a blue/red wire connected I don't know where it go in origin

I have a friend that give me a "PJ" ecu and the engine start!

Now I need to modify my ecu to bypass the immobilizer

Some new pictures...


At moment with Astra mk3 wheels, front spring -70 of Astra mk3 (with legs) and rear -80 of mk1.
In front I have 288mm dics with relative calipers and brake master cylinder and servo everything from a '95 cally turbo.
I also put a walbro 255 fuel pump.
The engine is standard by now but I want to go with a EDS phase 3 as soon as possible...

She still have some trouble with starting, I must try two or three times before engine start. I don't know why. When the engine was on the Calibra it start without problems..
