hello guys, not good news here... I have always problem with starting this car.

I have changed:

Fuel Pump
Fuel pump Relay
Crank angle sensor
Coolant Temperature Sensor
Rotor arm and distributor cap
Ignition Leads
Battery (of course with all these cranking)

added tree extra earth, two from battery negative to the fuel rail and one to the chassis.

Sometimes it start and run so good, I love how it boost!

But now I'm very tired of trying ten times before it start (when I'm lucky).
A battery was dead, I have change it with a "Bosch S5 001" 52ah 520A.

Someone have idea of what can cause this?
How I can solve?

I solve the problem, thanks to a guy from migweb forum.
It' was the wire for the ignition!
I had used the original wire, there is a resistor on this wire (but I don't find it) that cause the problem starting car.
So I take a 12v wire and put a switch to start the car and it works perfectly!

No one know this? How you start the mk1 after a c20xe or c20let swap?

Most mk1's inc gte have the resistor wire (clear looking wire in the loom but not an actual resistor anywhere) there is a black wire from the back of the starter to the coil as well, this is to boost the power to start the car with 12v at the coil rather than 9-10v

When people fit other engines the ecu power should be tapped into behind the fuse box or I us the black/yellow (electronic choke supply) wire if the loom has it in the engine bay, or the horn feed can be used

Under no circumstances should the clear coil wire be used for anything other than a coil in the original setup

Update of my project

front mount intercooler from a Suzuki SX4 and custom radiator in size 720x290

I don't know why many people put the intercooler outside, I think this is a perfect fitment.

I also bought some piping:

from compressor outlet to intercooler in
2x 90° silicone elbow 51mm
1x Alloy Straight Joiner 50mm x 76mm

from intercooler out to the intake
1x 45° silicone elbow 51mm to 57mm
1x Alloy Straight Joiner 57mm x 150mm
1x 57mm Straight silicone
1x c20let 57mm custom intercooler pipe from tbw-automotive

This is the custom radiator near the oem of calibra turbo

That looks great Jack. I've been thinking about doing something similar to mine because I wouldn't want to mount the intercooler on the outside of the valance.

Not these wheels are only temporary becouse the schimdt not fit with 288mm calipers, but I grind off some materials from the calipers and now they fit. New pictures soon wink

It's a Irmscher lip, very hard to find, I bought it from ebay.de
