I am looking to buy an ASTRA GTE MK1 to use as my main car. Im not a mechanic and Im no good at doing cars up so ideally I am looking for a finished project. If anyone on here is looking to sell their GTE or if they know of any GTE's that are in great condition then I would be very interested to buy.
Ideally one that is MOT'd and is ready to drive.
I am driving an Orange AUDI TTS at the moment but its just boring and I will be selling this as soon as I get a mk1 GTE. My childhood memories are that of an Astra GTE MK1 or an ASTRA SR and no other car comes close.
If anybody is looking to sell then please reply to this thread with contact details. I will be buying with cash and I am looking to buy asap.
I really appreciate any assistance or you might know someone that is selling a mk1 GTE that you yourself would buy. If you can refer me then I would be forever grateful.
Don

Ok I will look at ebay now. My Audi tts is bright orange hahaha now that would be funny. If anyone does see a good gte please send me the web link.
I am prepared to pay for a great car so I'm not too concerned how much it will cost as long as it's worth it.
Thanks for your help guys. Imma check ebay now.
Again, all suggestions are very welcome. |

I cant find any whatsoever. Looks like Im going to have to just sit and wait and wait cos it looks like that they do not come up very often. Yes there will be some average ones but I really want one that is owned by an enthusiast.
So if any one of you guys are thinking of selling then contact me first and I will make you an offer.
Thanks to everyone who reads and comments. I really appreciate it.

Mate, I really can't stress how much you are going to struggle to:
a) find a really good one
b) a really good standard one
c) from an enthusiast who is up for selling
d) for under £6k
Keep your eyes peels on here, eBay, Gumtree and OldClassicCars.co.uk
Good luck!
P.S. Are you after a standard one or one with the 2Ltr 16v or 16v Turbo? _________________ "A fine example of how not to build a car..."

hey deadeye,
thanks for your help fella. Well to be honest, I appreciate that getting my hands on a good one is not that easy. And when it comes to standard or turbo, as long as its MK1 then Im not fussy. Im only looking for one thats not rust and one thats not too modified. Painted and new alloys and stuff are okay with me but to be fair I am always going to consider anything at this stage.
My ultimate one would be WUX 3Y......That one is just far too nice for me not to buy hahahaha Whether its in BLUE or RED I think his car is pretty much perfect. As for anyone else who owns a GTE and is on this site, I would assume that they all have awesome examples.
And 6K would not be too much for me. I will always consider whatever.
I am assuming that you all know who owns WUX 3Y? As his car is all over google. If he would get in touch I would try my darndest to convince him to sell to me. Even if I looked after his car in the winter for him as he locks it away in the garage. hahahah
I will be checking classiccar and gumtree etc
Again, if you see one do me a favour and let me know fella. I would really appreciate it.
Thanks

WUX 3Y Changed hands 6 or 9 months ago and is undergoing more restoration I think. _________________ "A fine example of how not to build a car..."

WUX was sold about a year ago for £3k but as a none runner, and I understand the car is going to be restored back to standard.
So I don't think WUX will be for sale. _________________

gutted.
Oh well, thats one off my list, now that just leaves every other MK1 GTE TURBO to try and find one for sale.
Looks like im going to have to sit and wait till something appears.
Thank you for the advice and update tho. Much appreciated.

Probably not your thing but there's a rare EX-P edition on eBay at the moment with a 2.0 16v. _________________ "A fine example of how not to build a car..."
