Hi all a new newbie to the forum, just picked up a 1.3s good base needs a little TLC solid underneath! Being a Manta man I know all about rot!

Welcome to the forum, keep it standard as there's way too many modded ones lol although I can't talk as mine aren't standard

will do I think, there are not many of these left! I thought manta's were few and far between. doing the nostalgia trip my first car was a mk1 van there like hens teeth though trying to find one of them, so I got the next best thing!

hello mantaman and hello all, i to have just joined the group (noob) and as i was browsing the forum your post just out right and spooked me!
Now before you all think wow this OTHER new guy has just hijacked mantnmans post.... my reason for being spooked and doing so is, my first car was also a white mk1 bedford astravan A reg sadly i cant remember the whole number plate. At the moment i don't own a mk1 as of yet.... BUT i am looking to buy a mk1 (for now) the one that's on ebay 3 dr brown from Bristol (if all goes well) and i to am/was wondering if i should keep it original or do i do some kinda mad funky engine transplant ect. but as Gt/Estate pointed out there seems to be a lot of non standards about so for now im going with keeping it original, if im lucky enough to win it on ebay! (gonna phone today to see if i can see before bidding first)
ok sorry for rambling and such a long post but it was just great to start off on here with a guy that by the sounds of things could be my twin brother! we both had first car vans now wanting to go back to mk1's, i forgot to say that ive to looked for a van but it seems to be a nightmare to even get a car so.. for now i'll go with this ebay idea

I bought a standard three door with the intention of making a GTE but decided to keep it standard. I go to a lot of shows and most mk1's are modified, you don't come across many standard ones any more.

Hi again all, i rang the guy from work today and im going to look at (before bidding blind) that one in Bristol this thursday! so wish me luck and hope no one runs it up to something stupid. And on that note what sort of money are these realistically making/worth? these days as ive noticed the GTE's are becoming phone numbers and i don't want to go full retard and pay for eg £800-£1000 only for you guys to be like DAMN you could have bought one off of bob which was better for that sort of money or less ect

I am a bit of a Luddite with computers!! Every time I try to ad a picture it's says pictures too large...o er mr's any help? With pictures that is? My van was re sprayed silver reg A227 WOH I looked at Dvla was on the roads I think till 1996 If I recall probably a coke can now!
