| Just wondering what engine swaps people have done to their mk1's ? I've heard of a 1.7td conversion done... Personally I'm looking at a 2 liter 8 valve |

I think pretty much any vaux engine has been fitted. And several non vauxhall.
A 2.0 8v conversion is pretty straight forward.

Yeah saabs been done, 2.0 8v is what i have in my SR and as mine was a big block 1.6 it was a straight swap other than making a return pipe into the filler neck and fitting a fuel pump and a small bit of wiring its easy
