Hi Guys and Gals I shall be running a meeting on the 13th August in Luton about the national Rally 2018.
In short I would like some feedback,
did you like the venue ? were you happy with security compared to sharing a very public site when anyone could come and go. where the facilities enough? did you like the live entertainment on the Saturday night? _________________ VBOA Secretary |

I'd like if it stopped at the new venue.
More relaxed and chilled and family friendly.
Feed back from a couple of friends from other car clubs that attend this year . Is that the new venue is better.
I.e no travelling community as billing is know for . So less trouble |

It was no billing scenery wise but we were pretty spoiled before!!
Pro's
Overall was a good event, good space on our stand, having a live band was ace, staff seemed friendly, good selection of stalls, security didn't bother us, great first attempt.
To improve on next year:
- Need a dedicated exit as it sucked waiting ages while the staff got people to enter two by two while you are sat there waiting to leave
- music was good but could have lasted for longer, been on both nights and had some variety in different acts
- would benefit from a bar *cough Denjamins Bar cough*
- there was a LOT of unused space between cars, minimising that would encourage you to walk round the different clubs more and mingle etc
- more displays on during the day would attract normal people that don't just want to sit in a field with thier buddies like us!
Overall cracking first attempt and would be great with some simple tweaks 😊 _________________

Much better than I expected for a first show, the security seemed pretty good even with the travellers kicking off at the gate at late o'clock on the Friday.
The toilets and showers were pretty good although portaloos are never pretty when it's hot and sunny.
Things I noticed that could be improved,
The access to the site was a bit of a pain to get out sometimes but I appreciate that's down to the site owners to look into if they want to hold more events there.
They needed more rubbish bins especially around the food vans.
The grass was a bit rough, looks like the cows had only been moved on a few days before.
It was very dark at night so maybe some lighting around the portaloos?
I think a big central marquee could be good for a gathering place and shelter from the sun / rain as the site is a bit exposed.
The show layout needed looking at as people have said, I found myself walking miles through nothing to get to some stands, with some looking crammed into a corner and others just lost in a field.
And the show arena access wasn't that well thought out having to drive through crowds with kids at the amument area.
Overall tho a good show with a chilled atmosphere. _________________

I enjoyed it
Nice and relaxed, more than enough room.
The Band was ok... Although I wasn't a fan of a dummed down version of Killers Mr Brightside!
More reliable shower blocks needed. Water cut out while I was covered in soap.
Have had more powerful golden showers.
The clubstands seemed to be at the extremities of the field, the outer perimeter kinda thing with not a lot in the midle. Is it possible to have a walk around type plan where as your walking around there are stands to your left and right. A layout where you get drawn to the next club then the next, like a circuit with clubs on the inner and outer perimeter |
