So there we have it....
One XE to LET conversion in 3 days.
This is the only pic I have of it in the bay.
As you can see, Jacko is the soldering master (obssessive to boot! )
Just a little update of what I have been doing today.
Dene came round and helped me fit a 'orrible master cylinder vaccum pipe that wasn't playing ball.
I have sourced a coolant pipe off a place in Leeds that was most helpful, B&C car parts, Kirkstall Rd. Unfortunately it didn't fit, I must have got the measurements all mixed up in my head again!! I have temp fixed it on but I am thinking that I might need a Sierra 'curly wurly' type one.
I have sorted a bit more of the wiring out today as well, I have located the ECU in the engine bay for the time being, just so it runs and I have clipped up a few loose wires and cable tied them up. I have also temp fitted the Boost gauge into the dash as well.
I really need to find the funds to get the exhaust done, I wanna drive it now!!!!
I'll get some more pics up tomorrow of the completed item.
Chow for now.

OK here we go, this is the finished article.
I am not sure about the plastic turbo cover yet, if it does stay the lettering will be white I think.
All that needs to be done now is sorting the exhaust out.....then we're up and running properly rather than sounding like a panzer tank.
Like I say I have temp mounted the ECU under the bonnet but I will be lengthening and colour coding the wires and maybe haiding some if I can.

What are you doing about cooling Jay? Intercooler or chargecooler? _________________

I have the standard, insignificant intercooler on...
I could either go the 'sh1tting cows it's a soda stream' chargecooler route or fit an EVO 8 intercooler that I am looking at or when the NO2 system is in place, purge on to the standard intercooler for quick cooling???
What do you reckon?? |

I'm only really talking about the 'your gonna get your ass kicked' at the lights moments intercooling.
Gonna hopefully be running a powerwheel for decreased BHP in 'everyday run around' mode |

Did I actually say I will be running decreased power for everyday running around?? Bloody hell that Whiskey must have been strong.
I love the way these engine look factory fit when they are in.
I've had a few people stop by whilst I was working on the roadside. Most were just nosey as to what I was getting up to, one lad in a corsa stopped by the side, looked at the engine bay an muttered "2 litre turbo, sweet!" and carried on driving
Oh and I'm not worried about it getting nicked, there are more tricks to the car that the average Chav can count to. Plus I have a shot gun and a big dog.
I do swear though if I catch an undersirable hanging around it, I'll take a before and after pic. One where he's round the car and the other with him spark out after I have gone 'Jurassic' on his boney ass |

CO2 Purge kit (co2 far far cheaper than nos for cooling effect) for cooling the intercooler and NO2 for an extra kick in the knackers

It'll look a hell of a lot better when I get busy with the suspension and the 'home brew spray job'
That reminds me, has anyone got a spare air spray gun that they don't want, pref gravity fed. |
