right as everyone already knows i own a very special gte with a pedigree as long as your arm.my problem now is what sort of value do i try to aggree for it with an insurance company and who would be best to contact for quotes, advice etc.please don`t take into consideration what i paid for it as this was just a token gesture aggreed between myself and the owner.but do take into consideration what a loss to the history of the gte world lol if it was nicked or burnt out god forbid.i`m totally at a loss as to a figure so please suggest some and add your reasoning for it so that i can discuss this with an insurance company so that i can state reasons why i want an aggreed value for insurance purposes as this car can`t be replaced it`s a one off.these figures are for current condition that i can aggree with them to re assess after the restoration back to works spec. |

At the moment we're talking £2000-£3000 Mark because it's a rally GTE, regardless of history and you'd need at least that much to rebuild it should anything happen (with the help of a helpful Vauxhall dealership)
This may seem like not alot, but once the car is returned to it's original show condition etc then you can at least double it for sure.
Hell, you're going for £6000 minimum once the car is finished so it's probably best to not go too low |

Once finished AND shown i would get agreed valueation for around £10k minimum.
Ask vxl heritage what they insure there's for. _________________ WANTED - Big Block Legs, GTE Engine Mounts |

That's the route I'd go.
You have a very special vehicle there, I'd say off the cuff that you'd be looking to cover yourself for circa £6-7k |

this is different i think m8 when you get an aggreed valuation on paper rather than book price but you have to aggree it first which involves photos and proof of history etc hence why i need to get it right so to speak. |

Make sure you get salvage retention mate, absolutely vital in my eyes.
£5000 sounds fair enough and the price is great, but try Footman James who specialise in classics.
Best idea I've heard so far is to talk to Vauxhall heritage, you never know as they may value it and also have some info about it |

Yeah, think they have a phobia about technology, you know what these classic car enthusiasts, if it's younger than their car they aint interested
Ah well, Billing is coming up and they'll be there in some form I guess.
You could always use Competition Car Insurance seeing as it's a rally car (and currently has their stickers on), or Sureterm who seem to be trying hard |
