i was asking similar questions recently - people reckon the mk2 stuff is cack & to go for mk1 stuff like here:http://www.tuning.co.uk/vauxshop/index.html?target=dept_12.html

I have just bought the Mk2 set up for the Mk1, Koni adjustables. The ones that were on Ebay.

Me and Jacko are parts sharing them. I need them in for the track day.

Just picked them up for an nice price too big grin

It exactly the same as the Mk1 stuff, top mounts are different, but these came with them so I can just fit them on.

ah, thats handy to know. was going to buy a complete mk2 gte for transplanting everything onto the mk1 but was told to think twice....haven't looked into old site archives properly yet but it would be good if there were a resource section for newbs like me which tells what fits what etc

just got mk1 haynes to compare with mi mk2 manual ...its a start

Swap the front top mounts over and it's job done, no real difference between the two iirc

Rear springs are different tho, mk1 is pigtail at 1 end and wide at the other but mk2 springs are pigtails at both ends.

if your on about standard mk2 suspension then yes it is rubbish, utter rubbish.

Sorry but you cant use mk2 Astra front legs om a Mk1(or Cav/calibra either) The tapered hole where the track rod ends go into are tapered the opposite way round to a Mk1 so you may have slight probs getting them in, unless you have them sleeved and then machined out with the taper the right way, the front inserts are the same though as are the rear shocks
