Hi guys, ive just purchased my first ever Astra GTE MK1.
Ive always likes them but never had one until now.
Its got a bit of history (original books ect) tax till jan 06 and MOT till september.
The bodywork is a bit shot around the kit and the front left wing has been previously replaced (badly!). The dipstick was popping out when you gave the car a boot but having cleaned the oil breather pipe out, that seems to be cured.
All the engine needs now is the air induction pipe replaces as it has a few splits in it.
I only paid £230 for it, dont think it was a bad price.
Anyway, heres some pics:

Not bad going there, a B reg as well, not many of them floating about.
So welcome to the club, prepare for horror stories aplenty (really is a love/hate thing with Mk1s) and enjoy the car |

Thanks for the welcome.
The kit is hiding a fair bit of rust, but with the better weather ill be able to give it a go.
Ive got one prob though, every now and then I get a real bad smell of petrol in the car that last for about 5 mins. Has anyone else had this and do you know the cause? |

It basically doesnt have any rear arches though, just bodykit and mud!
Gonna get a new pair of arches put in when im back off holiday, been quoted £150-£175 but might get the sills redone at the same time. |

Ah, but get rid of the mud and think of the weight that you are saving.
Natural rally cars these Mk1's are, mines always kindly oxidising itself in a vain attempt to shed more weight....
Welcome to the club, that is a bargain....and it's a B reg. Taht means that you can have the B19 xxx private plates. I so want B19 JAY but alas I have an A reg. _________________ The most hip hop mofo to ever come out of Halifax.....Jam Master Jay in d house!!! |
