Bad news!

Whilst ordering my intake pipe at Vauxhall, I was chatting to the guy and he informed me that a few weeks ago he threw away 3x brand new MK1 Bonnets as they had just been sitting around too long! What a waste.

I have contacted all my local Vaux dealers by me and they were less than helpful to be honest.

They throw the parts away because it costs them too much in held assests at the dealers (I'm assuming?). I just wish there was a central computer that I could search on so we could hold some of the parts for the club.

Maybe someone wants to take on the task that has Vaux inside knowledge?

I suppose I could ring around some non local dealers to see if they have any parts to 'throw away' in our direction.

Which VX dealership was it, the one in Loughton? If so he sold one on ebay a while ago and I collected it from him for one of the members on here and he said that was the last one they had so I asked him to call me if they came across any other panels!!

holy sh1t what a waste the one lee collected was for me so maybe mines was one that was saved as the guy said they had thrown some away.

It was the Honda/Vauxhall parts/service/repair centre in Oakwood Hill industrial estate, Loughton.

Not the dealership in High Road/Station road, Loughton.

Like I said, maybe this is something that a club member can do.

You know, one that's sat around on his arse all day, ermmm, kinda like me I suppose laughing

It would be better though if each of us from different regions could cover our own area, say 50 miles radius or something.

There is a lot of wastage being skipped round the back of the dealers on a day to day basis, I'll voulenteer to store it all in my spare house at the bottom of my country estate if you want.

That is if I had a spare house and a country estate, failing that I'll stick it all in my garage big grin

Im happy to collect parts from local and local-ish dealers but I dont have the spare time to phone round finding who has parts.

I did post earlier, is must have disappeared.

Anyway

I wrote that i can do it at a touch of a button, 99% of vxl dealers are on what is called channel 21, and i can tell how many of anything dealers have.

I have tried all the main Mk1 parts last week and one-one has anything.

If you lot list the part nos for things and what it is i can do all the searching you need from my desk big grin

If you searched last week on all the main parts how comes the bonnets didn't show Mart?

Is there any other linked systems that they use?
