Having to sell this as it needs a little work which I don't have time to do and I just can't see it rot in the street.

It's an X reg mk1 Astra, 1.3S. Orange.

Tuff kote'd when new so the underside is excellent.

Very good bodywork elsewhere.

2 previous owners before me, 1 for a year, 1 for the previous 22.

28,000 miles! Have most of the old MOTs. According to the bloke I bought it off it belonged to an old bloke who used it to go from his house to the butcher's shop that he owned every day and nowhere else. The last 10,000 of those miles were put on by me so up until 2005 it had done 18,000.

Electrics work fine. The rear windscreen wiper is temperamental but usually works. Heated rear screen, cig lighter, lights and original MW radio work fine. Even the boot light works!

Interior generally excellent, rear seat still looks like it's never been sat in.

Not been pfaffed around with, no stereo upgrade with resulting huge holes in parcel shelf.

Passed last MOT with only bearings needing doing, Ãƒâ€šÃ‚Â£20.

Has original spare tyre and tool kit.

Bad points:

Little bits of rust on wheel arches, some surface rust low down on sides. Not much at all though.

Passenger side rear quarter light broken. Currently filled with corrugated plastic covered in black duck tape. Actually looks and works alright!

Radio aerial snapped off.

Rear tyres okay, albeit old. Front tyres lose a bit of air and could probably do with replacing.

Wheels are original but have slight rust. Nothing a quick sand down and spray couldn't fix.

Clutch slipping. Can be adjusted a bit and I've been using it fine for short trips but it is incredibly irritating and needs doing.

Runs a bit rough. I've replaced the distributor and the electrical side is fine as far as I can tell. I think it's a fuel/carb problem and have a replacement brand new dell'orto carb and a refurb kit for the varajet II that's currently in there but I just have no time to sort it out.

Some bits of trim missing, specifically the driver's sun visor and the front door pockets.

...so it's just sat there waiting for someone who can do something with it. I'll take any sensible offers, particularly if someone wants to keep it as a car rather than strip it for bits. I'll gladly throw in the dell'orto, the varajet refurb kit and a medium sized bottle of Redex.

I also technically own a replacement varajet II that I bought from someone on this forum and never received. If you buy the car, feel free to hassle the guy if you think he'll ever send it out.

It's got MOT until March and tax until August. If you want the tax disc I'll sell it for cost, otherwise I'll cash it in myself. Let me know if you want it, otherwise it's not included.

Offering it up here as I've received some good advice and offers of help from this forum while I've had the car. No takers in about a week and I'll stick it on eBay. The car's in Bradford and I can't really travel so you'll have to come here. PM me for more details or if you want pics of anything in particular, I'll stick some general pictures up later today.

Last call before it goes on eBay. Now no MOT but I'll be looking to get 12 months on before I eBay it. If anyone wants to save me the trouble I'll take any sensible offers for it right now as, quite frankly, I haven't the time. Not expecting any problems as last time it only needed new bearings at Ãƒâ€šÃ‚Â£20.
