I can't believe it - I've owned my mint mk1 since Sunday and a lorry mudguard has just flown up and completely smashed in the front
I couldn't be more angry or upset.

Totally gutted to be reading this. I hope it can be repaired?
I can't imagine for a minute how upset you are.

Didn't catch the registration or signage, gutted! Limped home and got it under the light and it looks repairable. Slam panel is ok, but will need a new front valance, bumper, grille and passenger side wing. The worst bit of all is the original dealer plate is smashed.
Just finished a photoshoot today as well, typical!

I think I have a non-gte valance in Morecambe. I'll ask for you.
You should be able to pull that out pretty well tbh. it wont look brilliant but it will be better.

Cheers guys. I've found a bodyshop that reckon they can get it back for £250, so going to take it over there this week. I think I'd end up spending the same on parts and doing it myself!
Will keep you posted

Quick update - PMR52Y is now back on the road looking better than ever. Pick up a copy of Classic Car Weekly today for the first part of the story, the second will feature in a couple of weeks. I'll give you the heads up if anyone is interested.
Thanks for the words of support too - really helped!
