Well since it has been running really well lately I sent it in to get all the paintwork sorted so full front end and all the bodykit painted and alot of polishing later it looks like it used to.
So took it to vw festival at harewood house this weekend with a couple of mate, one in an original courtenay turbo manta and it was great how much interest the cars stirred up in the campsite and cruising there and back!
Really good weekend actually like my car at the moment and thats quite rare haha.

Cheers lads I'm really happy with it at the moment, just a few bits to get ready for winter time ie.. the front suspension needs a rebuild so going to put coilovers off a mk3 on as I dont have alot of travel left at the moment, new intercooler and pipes as I'm not running a dumpvalve now as was getting too many problems thru the loss of boost, bigger brakes etc etc etc..... it's never ending haha.
Want this one sorted so I can get on with my next mk1 project.
I think the manta is probs one of less than ten now, the owner of courtenay said he cant remember if he did 10 or 12 of the but there is bound to have been a few wrote off etc... this one has only done 18000 miles. |

Will mk3 Astra coilovers fit then? Do u have to do any kind of adjustment where the rear shocks are? |

Yes they will fit no probs at all on the front, just have to fit a different top mount or redrill the turret but I have a pair of eccentric Top Mounts with a spherical bearing so will be fitting them.
Not fitting rear coilovers at the moment as it's only my front suspension I am having trouble with it's too low and hardly any suspension travel left.
Rear coilovers will go on but still have to make some alterations to the rear turrets. |

Sorry stoopid just saw your question!
Bit of a strange one withe the wheels..... My brothers mate bought them from a show at birmingham nec we went to for his ford cougar and as you can proberley guess they did not fit his ford haha!
Anyway he rang tsw to find out what model they are to sell them on, so he gave them all the numbers off the alloys and the bloke at tsw said right then how have you got hold of these as tsw had not actually released them for sale at the time and im sure they was for the american market!
My brothers mate hung up at that point haha! so I know they are tsw but dont know the model and have never seen another set like them![/quote] |
