In order to get these working you need to find an old Volvo 340 gls in s crap yard.
These came with an option the Mk1 GTE's never had....
Heated seats.
Thats bloody Vauxhall for ya!
First off,you need to get the heat pads out,now you do this by either carefully taking the seat apart,or ripping it apart.
Either way do it without damaging the pads and dont pay for the full seats.
There are two pads in each seat, these need a live and a negative in order to heat up.
Tracing back the power wire, ther should be a small disc(looks like a small round battery),this is the thermostat.
You need this else the seats will get too hot.
If you leave this out,you run the risk of setting the seats alight if you leave them switched on too long.
Better safe than sorry.
Now its just a case of wiring these live and negative wires up to the switch on the dash, fitting an in line fuse on the live wire for safety reasons.
Job done.
The only hard part to this job,is peeling back the recaro to insert the heat pads.
Take your time over this and it should be easy. |
