HELP HELP HELP
Hi guys I'm after some help please.
I'm trying to get my Mk1 Astra back on the road but it's just decided to not wanna start.
2 weeks had the front & back brakes done, motor running fine & car booked in for an MOT, I put it away in the garage.
Friday just gone MOT day & I came to kick it up & it went but was coughing & spluttering & as soon as I took my foot of the engine cut out.
Now it won't even do that, the engine is trying to turn over but not kicking up,
I was getting intermittent spark from plugs so after taking some advice I changed the coil dizzy cap & leads but none of this has made any difference.
Would really appreciate some help, as anyone got any ideas or advice please? |

Check to coil amplifier under the coil or the injection relay also might be the Dizzy its self? _________________

I'd say relay as a first point of call, is there fuel pressure? Are the plugs wet? _________________

Thanks for the advice guys,
Yes Tuffty the fuel pressure is there & the plugs are wet.
When you say start with the relay, do you mean injection relay like Mark1 has mentioned?

Hi Tuffty & Mark1,
Please can you guys take the time to read my latest post about my engine cutting out.
After your helpful advice & Mark1 being correct in suggesting the coil amplifier being the fault of it not starting I would be interested in hearing your thoughts on why my engine is now cutting out on me.
I've got it through its Mot insured & taxed & was raring to get it on the road & now I'm seem to have a new problem which is very frustrating 😡
Cheers 👍🏻 |
