Apart from a couple of mark I will put in it, it's mint! |
Oh Well they will be handy as i still have to chop a bit more out near where it meets the inner sill so i may as well wait until i get the merchandise:D
I think ive figured the other bit out as the bit welded in that joint the strut top is the wrong shape i think i need to cut it on the 90 degree bend and make it more of a 45 degree
it stands out on these pics i found on here although these look different to yours.

Looks exactly like a mk1 offside inner wing to me.
The offside inner wing is double skinned in places. Feck knows why as its just a rust trap.
It does look like there is a wierd ante where the toolbox would be, but that might just be camera angle. _________________ "A fine example of how not to build a car..."

I randomly looked at a bit of nearside inner wing today and realised there was a massive crease in it that I hadn't spotted before. _________________ "A fine example of how not to build a car..."

Also notice in that pic, the lack of an air box mount for the GTE. _________________ "A fine example of how not to build a car..."

Today i have had the pleasure of meeting the mk1oc mobile panel salseman aka mr deadeye and not only did he deliver the items but they were treated in style and comfort by being wrapped up in a blanket and seated in some nice cream leather seats!
any how here is a few pics of the bits ive received next to the bits they will be replacing.
believe it or not this is the old lower bulk head
If deadeye did not have this i would have been up the creek without a paddle!
we have a valance with corners!!!!
and orp shall have some holes that should actually be there for a change!
I really must pull my finger out and clear the garage and start doing something...
oh and deayeye after chatting about them plates on the front chassis rails i checked orp just to see if there was just the one on the drivers side and it seems that after looking through the rusty hole it does actually have one on the passenger side as well.

Good to meet you earlier today mate!
Holy sh;t, I didn't realise your lower bulkhead was THAT bad!
There's a ridiculous amount of filler on your front panel isn't there?
Goo job I managed to keep the chassis legs attached.
Hopefully you can crack on now - but get a few meters of inch box and weld in a frame for the doors.
If you PM me your email, I'll send you over those squaring measurements. _________________ "A fine example of how not to build a car..."

Let me know if you need the funny shaped bit of floor at the front over the tunnel. _________________ "A fine example of how not to build a car..."

likewise phil was great to put a face to the name
it actually failed a couple of mots on that lower bulk head in the last few years but it was structurally sound as it was covered in underseal
The filler on the valance is nothing compared to the amount on the rear arches i bet orp is 10mm wider than most mk1's if not more as it still has the old arches underneath!
i checked my floor pan when i got back and that middle piece of tunnel is fine its just the car either side of the tunnel thats crap
pm on its way _________________ orp picture diary

Please can you post the squaring measurments up. They will be useful for lots of us mid rebuild. The pictures on the rebulid threads help with what you can expect or will need to make. Its also nice to know everyone has the same problems |
