As the subject says, anyone got any experience with roller shutters?
Mine has packed up and trying to decide if I fix myself, or get the "pros" in. _________________ 4x4 Turbo MK1 Astra - may actually be finished this year!

What's packed up exactly? Is it motorized or operated using a chain? _________________

If an ac motor doesn't work, usually something wrong with the phasing on startup. A tumble dryer for example has a big capacitor (you'll love this) which creates a flux in the motor which helps it start.
(Yes a flux capacitor)
You probably have a little box on the motor with the capacitor inside.
It basically helps the motor start, if its broke, the motor will just hum because its trying to go forward and backwards at the same time. _________________ "A fine example of how not to build a car..."
