Iv heard back from the seller via email.

Aparrently the shel is literally in the next village next to mine.

Someone emailed him 10 mins before me and i was the 2nd person to email.

He also said that the guy who emailed first payed a £50 deposit and was picking up on saturday.

Who was it then?

Even worse is that any other day I would have spotted this post within a couple of minutes as I have this site and a couple of other open all the time.

It wouldn't have replaced Gilfy's shell though.

If its been bought, then surely the new owner willcome forward, as i am sure they'd have to be on here & been watching? I will just assume for now that ther "first one in & left a deposit" is a fable for now, but will i be wrong? laughing big grin

Gutted is an understatement to be honest. And when I say it was round the corner, I mean less than 5 miles away.

Its amazing what people must have lying about.

Was looking forward to a decent project too.

Strange that he never gave a phone number. And it seems that whoevers got it is keeping quite, how tipical of this site.
I would really like to see if such a thing does exist, I would have went the 100+ miles just to have a look.
Whoevers got it please say, I'm hoping its not going to be a rally car or grass tracker. That would be really sad.
I really wanted it to reshell my Sr, I emailed him aswell but he took a deposit.

I never even got a response. My plan was to build a stock looking GTE but with Mk3 dash, power steering, air con, electric windows, central locking, ABS, leather and maybe NAV etc.

I Googled his email address and its only ever been used on this site, and if he's got loads of cars as he seems to make out that he has, he would have used the email elsewhere. Why would someone lie tho?

A very elaborate email address grabber?!

Although do you mean this is the only site which has been indexed by Google and has a page with his email address on?

I sold my mk1 last year, as most parts where new/changed, but the shell was not really touched and would need a full strip down again, a lot of welding work etc, to a good standard. I emailed the seller as I thought this would be right up my street and local also, but was sold after only 25-30 mins later. The seller didnt seem interested at all, when asking about the history etc, and about the shell, saying he had no time for cars/parts, this sort of thing. Shame. Sold very quickly (25 mins), when it just came on . Strange.
